Quick Morning Makeup

Everyone has had that morning – where the thought of pulling yourself out from under your soft duvet is painful. The morning where your puppy wants to cuddle and looks at you with big sad eyes – “Mom please don’t get out of bed.” The type of morning where you hit the snooze button multiple times. You tell yourself, “I can totally get ready in 15 minutes – curl my hair, pick out clothes, put on my makeup.” This is the type of morning I had today. It’s the middle of the week and I had no desire to jump out of bed early – or on time for that matter. When I’m running low on time, but must look professional for a corporate work environment, these are the beauty products I reach for. It’s quick & easy, but you’ll look awake and alive.

Your boss will never know how late you slept in!

Quick Makeup - Even Out Skin

One of the first things people notice is your skin. Evening out your skin tone is essential to proper makeup application, not to mention it will make you look a lot less asleep. When you’ve had your face pressed up against a pillow all night and you’ve tossed and turned, your skin may look red and/or blotchy. Using a tinted face primer like Benefit’s Porefessional will help even your tone while ensuring makeup glides on evenly. My go to foundation for every day is my MAC mineralize foundation. This foundation will give you an immediate glow and is medium to full coverage. Next, make sure you banish dark circles with Maybelline’s Age Rewind Eraser. A coveted favorite among beauty gurus, and for good reason. This concealer slides on smooth, applies easily and has great coverage. Lastly, keep your makeup from running in the heat & in place all day with NARS translucent powder. Worth the $$$, this powder has light reflecting properties that keep your skin bright.

Quick Makeup - Cheeks
After you’ve finished your base makeup, give your face a boost of color with a beautiful blush. Try out Givenchy’s It-Girl Purple. This is one of the most amazing blush colors I’ve ever tried. The pigment is finely milled and creates a natural light pink flush. I use my Real Techniques Blush Brush to apply. It deposits color evenly and comes at an amazing price!

Quick Makeup - Brighten & Smooth

Now it’s time to brighten & smooth. Using my current, favorite mascara, I swipe on several layers of Dior Addict It-Lash to give my eyes a wide-awake look. The consistency of this mascara allows numerous coats to be applied one on top of the other – without the “spider eyes” effect. The icing on the cake is to hydrate your lips. Most mornings I wait to put on lipgloss until after my daily cup of coffee, so I opt for my Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm SPF 10. This lip balm changed my lip’s life. I apply this every night and wake up to soft, smooth smackers.

So waking up late isn’t always a bad thing. Give yourself some extra cuddle time, hit snooze more than once, and try out this easy and fast morning beauty routine.
