Okay, I have to pause and talk about my caricature. No, I didn’t bring a shirtless man to the wedding with my name tattooed on his arm hah. I was one of the only people flying solo and I asked if he would draw me with a hot date – and I’d say he did a fabulous job! We had so many good laughs over the whole thing. We even named him Liam and decided he’s Australian. Best wedding souvenir ever!
One of my favorite parts of the evening. They turned off the lights and have every kind of light up wearable toy you can think of. Glasses, rings, necklaces, you name it!
When I get married I will most definitely have a candy bar. It was so nice to have something to snack on and they had monogrammed gold bags so we could take as much as we wanted home. I’m eating it as I type this post hah.
I was so fortunate to receive an invitation to my beautiful friend Lezlie’s wedding. Her and I met when I taught her very first Pure Barre class. Luckily she loved it and continued visiting the studio on a regular basis. We soon became friends and then she decided to become a teacher herself! I’ve been so proud to witness her PB journey, as well as her journey from engagement to marriage. Lezlie & Kenneth got married at The Kyle House in Fincastle, VA. The ceremony took place in a beautifully decorated building with old wood rafters, draped with burlap and giant chandeliers. The bride (aka Lezlie) looked absolutely stunning from her hair to her jewelry to her gown. I am quite the hard judge of wedding dresses and hers was amazing! It fit her like a dream and the ruffles were such a beautiful statement.
Her ceremony and bridal speeches were incredibly emotional and maybe the most heartfelt I’ve ever witnessed at a wedding. It was obvious there was a lot of love in the room and I would say it’s a day Lezlie & Kenneth will never forget. Some of my favorite touches were the koozies, candy bar, caricatures and the polaroid pictures. As everyone came into the reception they took a photo and later on we got to come back and sign the book where they were all collected for a guest book. This wonderful evening reminded me of how exciting love can be and how wonderful it is to have good family & friends. I wish Lezlie & Kenneth every happiness and cannot wait to be a part of their journey together. Too bad I can’t accompany them on their honeymoon (just kidding)!
XO Amanda
