Beauty Haul

A short while ago I did a beauty haul post HERE.
All products not purchased from MAC were purchased at Sephora.

I thought I’d go ahead and review all of the products now since I’ve been using them consistently. Some I have loved and some I actually returned – let me tell you why! Look for product titles in red for the ones I didn’t fall in love with.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer Water (travel size)
To be honest I really couldn’t tell the difference in the longevity of my makeup after using this. I prefer to use my Fix+ spray before my primer instead. The mist on Fix+ is much more even and refreshing. I ended up returning, because I didn’t feel like I was getting my money’s worth.

Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
Love this! This was a repurchase (I’ve probably gone through four bottles) and I still love it. I apply 8-12 sprays to my face before I apply my mascara. I do think it makes a difference!

MAC Prep & Prime Fix+
Love it! Love it! Love it! This is a beauty staple for many reasons. The way I’ve been using it: I apply several sprays to my face after my moisturizer and before my primer to refresh my skin and to help my primer adhere. Then, after I finish my face, but before my eye makeup I will apply about 8 sprays to help the makeup I’ve applied sink into my skin and also for a dewy finish.

Make Up For Ever Step1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer
Okay, my skin did not like this product AT ALL. Once I got home I had a feeling this was going to break me out, because it’s the same consistency as Benefit’s Porefessional, which clogs my pores instead of smoothing them out. I experienced several break outs after using Step1 and quickly returned. I made sure to use this separate from other new face products to make sure it wasn’t something else causing my skin to react. Note: A lot of people love this primer – so I would give it a try for yourself if you’re interested.

Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Foundation (128)
LOVE! I’ve used this foundation before, but I feel like the reformulation is so much better. The coverage is amazing and it has a nice sheen once applied. Thank goodness for the beauty consultant who perfectly matched my color so now my self tanned skin matches my face! Worth the $$. My coworker even commented on the evenness and smoothness of my skin.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer (Light Warm)
Winner winner! If you love MAC’s Prolongwear concealer you need to try this! You may not go back. Not because it’s necessarily superior, but it’s so much easier to apply with the doe foot applicator. I am in loveeeee with the shade light warm as well. It’s the second to lightest shade and brings the perfect amount of brightness to my face. This is also the most long wearing of any concealer I’ve tried (I like to apply my MAC Prep & Prime in radiant rose before).

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Medium/Deep Matte Bronzer
You need it! Go buy it! Go go go! The perfect shade and it smells like chocolate – need I say more? You can thank me later :).

Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion (20M)
I was super surprised and impressed with this bronzer. I have been switching between this and the Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. At first I felt like I wasn’t getting much product on my brush, because it doesn’t have a super soft consistency, but it really does bring the right amount of color to my face and also a beautiful sheen which I love!

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick (Creme D’Nude)
If you love nude lipstick and don’t have this you are missing out! Can’t believe I lived without it for so long. It will stay in my makeup bag in my purse foreverrrr.
Glam Glow Thirsty Cleanse Daily Treatment Cleanser
Sadly this product was my biggest disappointment. Let me start by saying I love Glam Glow’s clearing mask (see Tuesday’s post HERE) and their thirstymud treatment, but this thirsty cleanse DID NOT sit well with my skin. I have very, very sensitive skin, which is why I rarely switch up my skincare routine. I tried this cleanser for three or four days before realizing what was happening to my face. After about a day I had red tiny blisters under my nose and on my chin – really strange! And when I moved my face it felt tight and sore. It’s possible this could have been from the new primer, but I’ve never experienced a reaction like this before and I don’t think that’s supposed to happen (please correct me if I’m wrong). Anyhow, it completely freaked me out and I returned it along with the primer water and Step1 primer. Again, if you don’t have sensitive skin you may end up loving this.

I hope this review was helpful and I hope you have a fabulous Thursday! I keep thinking it’s Friday and I keep getting disappointed. I’ve been a day ahead all week long!

Yesterday I asked what kinds of posts you all enjoy reading and what things you’d like me to post about in the coming weeks! Please let me know by commenting below – fashion, lifestyle, beauty, health – gimmie all your fun ideas!
Thank you!
