I’m so excited to kick off a new fashion series called, “What to Wear Where” today! I gave you guys a hint on my Instagram stories about what today’s theme would be with an apple. Some of you had some really good guesses like New York City and apple picking, and a few guessed right too. Without further making you wait, we’re kicking off the series with a chic teacher look. Every Wednesday, I’ll post an outfit that you can wear to a specific event, occasion, workplace etc. And the best part is you get to pick the theme each week. Plus the person that suggested the theme will be featured in the blog post (only if you say it’s ok!). Since school just kicked off and teachers are heroes, I thought we should have our first series centered around them. I cant wait to share this fun chic teacher look.

For more style inspiration, you won’t want to miss these posts either!

This outfit is all about incorporating pieces into your wardrobe that are appropriate for the classroom and the changing fall weather.

I started with this adorable cotton t-shirt and buttoned it all the way up. I also cuffed the sleeves for a more sophisticated look. Then I layered a sweater vest over the top to give the look a different texture and to add an additional layer for warmth. The cotton t-shirt and sweater vest are both under $25, and can be worn with many other separate outfits. That way you’re getting more use out of each piece.

Because I’m more petite, I added a belt to my natural waist. The belt cinches in my waistline, and prevents the outfit from looking too baggy. I paired the look with camel knee-high boots. If you’re wearing a shorter dress during the cooler months, knee-high boots are a great option to give more coverage to your legs without having to wear tights. I finished the look with a pearl headband and oversized tote. A headband is a great way to switch up your hair style and doesn’t require much effort to make your hair look cute and put together.

Styling the Sweater Dress

When I’m choosing clothing items to purchase, I always evaluate whether or not I can mix and match other pieces that I already have in my wardrobe. With this sweater vest, you can layer a neutral turtleneck underneath with booties. You can also wear a basic long sleeve t-shirt underneath the sweater vest. Then, layer a blazer over the top and finish the look with mules.

Long cardigans are great staple items to include in your wardrobe for fall. You can add a long cardigan over the top of the t-shirt, and add a belt over the shirt and cardigan to give the outfit some structure. Then pair booties or knee-high boots to complete the look.

I hope this series will help give you the outfit inspo you need to find the perfect outfit for something specific. I know there are so many beautiful curated outfits on blogs and Instagram. But it’s nice to have a specific place in mind to wear something, and to style in a variety of other ways to wear to different occasions.
