This Lexington, Kentucky Guide to my favorites has been a long time coming! As many of you know, Lexington is my favorite place in the whole world. I grew up here, my family is here, and it’s a city that called me back home after eight years away in 2019. If you love the city you live in, you realize it’s a feeling. A feeling of warmth, peace and contentment. I’d call LEX a big little city.. where the traffic isn’t terrible, there are tons of cute shops, delicious family owned restaurants, a rich history, and a friendly demeanor. If you haven’t visited, you absolutely should! I’ve made a list below of my favorite places to eat, shop, and do. A few of them are in Georgetown and Versailles (beautiful horse country!) which are a quick drive from Lexington.

THINGS TO SEE

  • Keeneland (specifically in the fall)
  • The painted horses downtown!
  • Triangle Park (ice skating in the winter)
  • The Kentucky Castle (Versailles – it’s an actual castle!)

WHERE TO STAY

  • Origin Hotel – I suggested this hotel to several people and they all had amazing things to say. It’s located in The Summit shopping center so you have easy walkable access to shopping, eating, and even Whole Foods grocery store. It’s a quick, straight shot from the airport.
  • The Kentucky Castle (Versailles – it’s an actual castle!)

Also, if you didn’t know, I recently added a STAPLES SHOP here on the blog full of worthwhile staple wardrobe pieces that will stay in style and can be worn throughout the year.
