Cold Weather Brunch or Lunch Outfit Option

Are you still experiencing cold weather where you live? In the Lexington area, it’s still pretty cold. Although we’re having a surprisingly warm week which is making me really look forward to spring fashion. However, if you still need to dress warmly, I have the perfect cold weather brunch or lunch outfit option for you today (or simply lose the coat if degrees are temperate!).

I teased this look over on Instagram last week, and many of you said you’d wear this look to brunch too. Others said they would wear this to work or for a night out. Wherever you would choose to wear this, it’s a versatile look that can take you from day to night. Plus this dress is $35!

If you need a business professional look for work, I shared a power suit last week that is as chic as they come. You can read that post HERE.

What to Wear to Brunch or Lunch in Cold Weather

This henley neck sweater dress from Target is one of my favorite recent affordable finds. It’s very versatile in the sense that you can dress it up or dress it down. And I also love the subtle detailing that gives this dress just enough interest like the five buttons at the top and the two slits on the sides. The length also works well for both petite and taller frames. I’m 5’2″, and like that it isn’t too long. This dress runs true to size, and I’m wearing an XS.

I opted to pair the dress with a brown leather belt to break up it up a bit and give the dress more structure. However, you don’t necessarily have to do that. It’s just a fun way to make it your own, and add a little personal style. I’m wearing a size 70 in the belt.

These knee-high boots create the perfect look when paired with this dress. They’re functional to wear to keep your legs warm, yet still give you the chic look you want. I’m wearing a light brown color, but black boots with a black belt would also be pretty. The exact boots I’m wearing are low on stock, but linked a few other options below. My boots run true to size, and are very comfortable.

A staple piece to keep in your winter wardrobe is a long teddy coat. A puffer, teddy coat and wool coat are three outerwear pieces I’d recommend having. Depending on the occasion, each one will come in handy throughout the cooler months of the year. This teddy coat runs slightly large and wearing a 00P. To level up any coat or jacket, I like adding this YSL brooch.

Spring Up the Look

This dress will transition to spring nicely with a simple change of the coat and shoes. This style of sandal is on-trend right now, and can find them in a variety of style variations. They’re the perfect shoe to have in your closet for casual outings to pair with dresses, denim and skirts.

For coat options, I’d recommend a blazer if you’re wearing this dress to work with neutral pumps. If you’re wearing this dress to brunch, pair a denim jacket with the dress. The options are endless when it comes to styling this find from Target. You’ll be reaching for it whether it’s cold or warm. But let’s hope it gets and stays warmer sooner rather than later. 😉
