current makeup routine
Happy Friday! I’ve had a ton of makeup questions lately so I decided to write an updated makeup post with all of my favorite products and the order in which I use them. Recently, on Instastories I shared a quick impromptu makeup tutorial and promised I’d link and share all the products on the blog… so here you go!
SHOP THE POST

Tatcha The Water Cream For the last couple weeks I’ve been using a sample of Tatcha’s Water Cream from Sephora and it feels absolutely wonderful on the skin. It’s a lightweight luxurious cream perfect for use in the morning underneath makeup. It dries quickly and leaves the face nice and dewy.

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream I heard so much hype about this product and waited years to purchase, but I’m so glad that I did. It’s designed to wear under your makeup and doesn’t cause your concealer to move or smear. I’ve been using it morning and night and I am totally sold.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer This is the primer I’ve used for years now. It’s quite pricey but the 2 oz. bottle has lasted me over two years! It has a silky texture, is hydrating, and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. I highly recommend as an overall primer for anyone and everyone. It doesn’t have a tacky finish like some primers, but my foundation still stays on really well.

Becca Velvet Blurring Primer This is the newest primer I’ve been testing out. The consistency is a lot different from the Hourglass primer but I really like it on days when my skin is more oily because it has a matte velvety finish. I’ve used it for several weeks and have been quite pleased.

Loreal Pro Glow Foundation I’ve gotten quite a few questions about my foundation lately and my go-to is actually from the drugstore. My fav used to be Maybelline’s Matte and Poreless but Pro Glow definitely trumped it! The finish is beautiful and the coverage is nice and medium (you can layer it if needed). I also love the color range!

YSL Touche Eclat Foundation This is my all time favorite foundation of ALL TIME. It comes at a higher price point than the Loreal foundation but it’s absolutely amazing. I can’t even explain how incredibly luminous it looks on the skin. It has a “wow” factor I’ve never found in another foundation.

Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Enhancer Okay you guys. This stuff is phenomenal! When I first saw the consistency and the size of the packaging I was quite skeptical because it’s fairly small and you have to dip your finger to apply which I usually don’t like. BUT it’s seriously a magical product. The smallest amount goes such a long way and it’s really easy to apply with the tip of the finger. I’ve actually been using my finger to warm the product under the eye area. And let me tell you, you will look very awake! I use color SX02.

Laura Mercier Loose Translucent Powder This is the best product you’ll find for baking! You can set your undereye and it won’t move or smear all day long. I use mine with a dry BeautyBlender both under the eye and under my cheek contour for a smooth, clean line.

NARS Translucent Pressed Powder I’ve gone through sooo many of these powders. I discovered it several years back and stopped using everything else. It’s the only translucent powder I’ve ever used that doesn’t get oily throughout the day and keeps my undereye and eyelid matte. At first, when you use it you won’t feel like you’re picking up any product because it’s very clear and packed into it’s compact, but trust me you are! I usually use a generous amount after foundation and concealer because it doesn’t leave my face cakey.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder This is a beautiful all over powder but I find that my skin can still get oily throughout the day, which is okay if you want to touch up periodically. I will opt for this on days I want an extra “luminous” face or when I don’t need a long-wearing look. What I LOVE it for is for cleaning up my contour. After I bake with the loose translucent powder I use this MAC powder on a small dense brush to wipe it away. It brings some color under your contour cleaning up any spaces that might still look muddy.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer Luminous Bronze Light The most luminous bronzer EVER! I get tons of questions about which one I use and this is the only bronzer I own or have used for months and months now. And it lasts for a long time because a little goes a long way. It’s the closest coloring I’ve ever used to a real tan and leaves a truly luminous finish on the face. I use mine on my forehead, contours of my cheeks, and at the tip of my nose. I apply it with THIS brush.

YSL Blush Volupte Babydoll This is the prettiest pink blush I’ve ever used. This is actually my second time purchasing which hardly ever happens because it takes quite a while to go through an entire blush. It’s a true baby pink and looks gorgeous applied with THIS brush.

MAC Fix + I use this facial spray before applying my moisturizer and after my face makeup. It’s not intended to make your look last longer but really helps your makeup to sink into the face so that it doesn’t look cakey or too thick. I like to use six – eight generous sprays. It’s also great for travel!

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray This spray is intended to help your makeup last longer. After using the Fix + spray I’ll use this product, again six – eight sprays to help my product last all day long. You don’t have to use so many sprays, but I figure it can’t hurt lol.

MAC Paint Pot Painterly This is my favorite eyeshadow primer! I place it all over my eyelid and it creates a matte finish perfect for the application of shadow. It also keeps your eyelids from getting oily. I find that if I don’t use this and a shadow in my crease, my eyeliner will transfer to the top of my eye throughout the day. I actually use my Hourglass Bronzer as my crease shade – two products in one!

KatVonD Tattoo Liner This is the BEST liquid liner. It’s so easy to use and stays matte black all day. I usually stock up on several of these each year because I never want to be without it. It’s the only eyeliner I’ve used for years!

Loreal Voluminous Primer I also get a lot of questions about my lash primer. This one is from the drugstore and the best I’ve found. I have tried high-end brands but haven’t been impressed. It lasts for a really long time and makes the lashes so much thicker and longer. I apply 30 seconds to a minute before applying my regular mascara.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes I started using this mascara a couple weeks ago and haven’t touched any others since. Usually, I layer mascaras for a thicker, longer lash effect, but with this one, I don’t have to. I usually put on three coats, letting one dry at a time. That may seem like overkill but I love a lush lash!

Dior Addict It-Lash Volumizing Mascara This is the only mascara I’ve used on my lower lash for YEARS. I found that it’s the only one I’ve ever tried that doesn’t transfer under my lashline throughout the day and never tried anything else. It’s a little pricey so I only use it on my lower lashes. It looks fabulous on the top too, but I feel like I’m wasting it if I use it for the top and bottom hah.

Ardell Eyelash Wispies I’ve had several people reach out to me about my false lashes that I wear for my photoshoots and these are the ones! I also love the 113. They are so lightweight I never even notice I’m wearing them. The trick is to make sure you let your glue (I like THIS glue) dry for at least a minute so that it gets nice and tacky. Once it’s tacky it will easily stick right onto your lash line without a bunch of mess and slipping & sliding around. I also cut 2 – 3 sections off the false lashes with scissors so that they are easier to apply. I don’t like having false lashes in the inner corner of my eye.

MAC Lipstick Blankety And last, but definitely not least, my go-to lipstick has been MAC’s Blankety. It’s the PERFECT nude lip for any time of year, but I especially love it for the Fall season. It’s what I’ve been wearing in all of my recent Instagram photos!

Phew! I hope this makeup post has been helpful. If you have any other questions feel free to let me know via, comment, DM, or email.

Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!
