Hello, hello, and TGIF! I’m so excited to report that I officially conquered my early morning goal this week to wake up at 6am (or 6:15 lol)! It may seem silly to those of you who are inherently morning people but for me, it is such a struggle. Monday and Tuesday seemed easy, Wednesday and Thursday I had to force myself up, and today wasn’t half bad because, hey, it’s Friday! I’ve always looked forward to Friday’s because it’s the last day of the week… I always get energized and motivated to finish my work. If you’ve joined #teamriseandshine on Instagram, let me know how your week has been below in the comments. Is anyone else feeling much more productive?! (If any of this is confusing, make sure to check out Monday’s blog post).

Today I wanted to share an additional skincare post all about dry skin care solutions. My skin and scalp have been drier this winter than ever before. It sounds sort of yucky, but the worst side effect is the itching. Sometimes it drives me crazy until I drench myself in moisturizer. SO I thought I would share some of my favorite products and remedies. Earlier this week I was watching The Today Show and they gave some fabulous suggestions, many of which are already items I own and use religiously (which was exciting to see). You can see their full article HERE that gives even more information and talks about the most common dry winter skin problems. Below you’ll find my top four dry skin favorites with short descriptions of why I love them.
Head & Shoulders Dry Scalp Care This may not be the most glamorous product but it sure does the trick! I purchased a bottle in late October because the dry weather was making my scalp extremely itchy. Again, I feel like that’s TMI, but it’s the truth. Since then, I use it every time I wash my hair before my usual shampoo. I make sure to lather the product concentrating primarily on my scalp. So far I can tell it is making a difference, and washing my hair twice with shampoo makes it feel extra clean.

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream I’ve been using this product for years now. I originally purchased it as a facial moisturizer but lately have been using it all over my body (I changed my facial moisturizer to the one below). It’s amazing for sensitive skin or anyone with rosacea, as it doesn’t have any fragrance or unwanted additives, and is dermatologist recommended. It’s a thicker consistency but sets in quickly without a sticky feel.

TULA Hydrating Day & Night Cream I recently talked about TULA skincare in my recent winter skincare post and have been loving their products… I wanted to elevate my skin routine and also needed a boost of hydration. I’ve been using this day & night cream since right after Thanksgiving and have definitely been able to tell a difference. Highly recommend for sensitive skin!

Vaseline Such a simple, easy, and affordable fix for dry lips! I started using this after experiencing a lip allergy/infection late last year. It was recommended to me by numerous doctors and the only product my lips would tolerate. Now, my lips are healed, but I still put Vaseline on them every single night, and usually throughout the day as well. I like to use a Q-tip to apply so that the tube stays sanitary.

I hope this was helpful to any of you also suffering from dry skin. If you have any other favorites I didn’t mention or feature, please let me know.

Have a fabulous weekend!
