fall brunch with friends look

Nothing beats a fall brunch date with friends! It’s the perfect time of year to find a spot to sit on a pumpkin filled patio with a caramel apple latte and maybe a bloody mary (or two). On this third edition of What to Wear Where Wednesday, I’m sharing the perfect fall-brunch-with-friends look.

Fall Brunch with Friends Look

Today’s look is all about this gorgeous floral dress. What drew me to it in the first place was the exaggerated bell-sleeve detail. It’s such a unique feature, and gives the dress a feminine flare. The floral pattern has gorgeous rustic colors for the fall season with the red, yellow, black and white. It also comes in two other colors/patterns. I’m wearing a small in the dress, but could have sized down to my normal XS and been fine. The dress has a smocked detail on the top of the shoulders and hook and eye closure. It’s also double-lined, so it has great coverage throughout. To give the dress more structure, you could put a belt around your waist to accentuate your natural waistline.

I paired it with knee-high, snake-print boots. They feature a four-inch, covered heel and a small square toe. The boots zip at the side and come in a brown and red velvet color. I finished the look with a felt hat and Louis Vuitton handbag. I also added simple jewelry from David Yurman.

Consider Your Surroundings When Choosing Your Outfit

I’ve said this before, but it’s important to consider where you’re going before you choose what to wear. Are you going to sit outside? If you are, you’ll want to bring layers. Are you going to be walking in gravel or grass? If so, I’d probably opt to wear a flat shoe or platform.

Alternative Styling Options

This dress is a great fall staple wardrobe piece. It’s not too dressy, yet not too casual. So it’s perfect to wear to events and occasions where you want to look your best and feel comfortable. I like pairing with knee-high boots to give my legs a little extra coverage. But you could also pair this dress with booties or over-the-knee boots!
