How To Wear Holiday At Work

Yay! Friday is finally here! Who is ready for a relaxing weekend of puppy cuddles in front of the tree sipping hot coffee with peppermint bourbon cream and cranberry Sprite malibu cocktails?! Oh wait… maybe that’s just me haha. If you’ve been watching my Instastories you saw me share how to make my fav (alcoholic) holiday drinks. It’s rare I drink at all, but I’ve found two that I LOVE. One is to pour some peppermint bourbon cream (so good) into coffee/hot chocolate, and the other is to mix ice, cranberry flavored Sprite (new for the season) and Malibu coconut rum… Mmmm! If you’re not a big drinker like me, you’ll love these because they don’t taste strong at all. 

Speaking of the holidays, I thought I’d share a festive look appropriate for the office. Dressing for December festivities at work can be difficult because sequins and ugly sweaters probably aren’t appropriate unless you work in a super casual atmosphere. A great way to show a little cheer without showing “too much cheer” is to pair a sweater with fun detailing with a bright skirt and a fun pair of shoes. If your office is super conservative you can obviously wear black or nude heels instead.

You can also reverse my outfit by doing a bright colored sweater, like an emerald green or red paired with black pants or a cream skirt. As long as your whole outfit isn’t crazy and bright, you’ll be good to go. No battery pack lighted sweaters or tinsel showing sweaters. Leave those for your neighbors get together on the weekend (again, I’m saying this for those of you in conservative office environments). Fortunately, my entire outfit is ON SALE! My tiered sweater is under $37, my green pencil skirt is $19.99 (with code WOW), and my shoes are 30% off (under $85). Right now is such a great time to snag Christmas attire, or any attire really, because everyone is having sales… and good sales at that! 

For a little pizzazz, I added a long initial necklace layered with a shorter initial necklace and a pair of gold hoops. Necklace layering is all the rage right now and this is a great way to do it without being too flashy. And don’t forget a cute tumbler for your coffee! I love my Starbucks but have been trying to save money lately by making my own in my Keurig or our coffee maker. And then I’ll take it with me in this adorable mug to meetings or to run errands.
