abercrombie mock neck cable sweater with target velvet skirt

Happy Hump Day! Ever since we took these photos I’ve been dying to share them. I didn’t intentionally buy any of these items to go together or in an effort to create a New Year’s Eve look but it all came together seamlessly. I absolutely love the monochromatic pairing of the cable knit sweater with the velvet midi skirt, and the addition of the blush earrings and the ankle strap sandals. So many NYE outfits aren’t exactly seasonally appropriate so you have to take a nice long warm coat or hope that it won’t be 11 degrees outside when in transit from your house to the party or get together. Normally my outfits are just as I described when ringing in the new year… a fancy little dress or sequin mini skirt but I have to say, love how this sweater skirt combo is both festive and warm… AND comfortable

When I shared this midi skirt (under $23) in a try-on session on Instastory, someone asked if it would work well on someone petite or short in stature, and the answer is “Yes!” I’m only 5’2″ and the length is perfect. Size wise: I’m wearing an XXS in the skirt (I would size down), an XS in the sweater, and I’m wearing my usual size in the sandals (under $100)… which btw are incredibly comfortable. I wore them all wedding season this past year and never felt discomfort – and we went to quite a few weddings!

I recently found this adorable faux fur clutch and fell in love with the color. Online it’s listed as red but it’s really a mauve in person. It’s super soft, and for $20, makes a great addition to your New Year’s Eve attire (it comes in several other colors). Just add a fancy earring like these tassel hoops and you’re ready to go! The best feature of these earrings is that they are super lightweight so they won’t pull down on your ears all night… and they are less than $13

You could even recreate this outfit with a mini skirt and a sweater OR a midi skirt and a beautiful blouse if you’re looking to show a little more skin. Because, “Hey! if you got it, flaunt it” hehe. If you’re looking for gorgeous dress options to wear, check out my posts HERE and HERE.

Have a wonderful Wednesday and come back tomorrow for a new, cozy teddy bear sweater.
