It’s the first official blog post of 2019!


I thought it would be fun to share my favorite blog posts of 2018 with all of you today. The ones that were most-read, most asked about, and the most fun to write. A lot of these serve as great resources for blogging equipment, hair questions, fav lip combos, shopping my looks, and MORE!

This blog post was by far the most popular of 2018 and that makes me really happy because it was one of the most open, personal posts I’ve ever written. I talk about, love, loss, and finding self-confidence in yourself no matter the situation. I wrote it in hopes it could help those struggling to find acceptance without the gratification of someone else’s words. I hope if you haven’t read, you will!

I thought I would throw this blog post into my favorites mix because it’s still very current and I get asked about my favorite lip combinations all the time on stories. I mostly get asked about nudes, but this post has some of my bright favorites for Spring & Summer too (can you tell I love MAC?)!

OFFICIAL LAUNCH | THE AMANDA NECKLACE

This blog post was SO exciting because it was the debut of the Amanda Necklace from Grace & Hudson Jewelry. I was fortunate to meet the designer Stacy in February when we went to a trade show together in New York City! It was so much fun to hang out with her and become new friends. She makes the most beautiful, dainty jewelry, perfect for any brides out there!

In 2018 I was very fortunate to attend the sixth annual RewardStyle Conference in Dallas, Texas. It was incredible to meet other bloggers from around the world and to network with some amazing brands. It was the biggest item on my blogger bucket list, so having the chance to attend was life-changing, to say the least. I wrote several posts on my trip linked above.

Justin and I got so many requests for my favorite margarita recipe that I just had to include it in my 2018 recap. If you’ve followed me long, you know J and I have a fav local taco spot that makes the BEST coconut margaritas so he figured out how to make them for me at home!

FIVE WAYS TO GROW A FOLLOWING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Almost daily, I get questions about growing on social media and becoming a blogger. I wrote this post to share what I’ve learned throughout my four and a half years of blogging and what I’ve done to grow organically on Instagram. I’m by no means the social media expert, but highly recommend if you’ve been stuck and wondering how to gain readers & followers!

THE BLOG SOCIETIES CONFERENCE 2018 RECAP

The second conference I attended in 2018 was The Blog Societies Conference in Atlanta, GA. It was a really good learning experience in regards to blogging business practices like accounting, photography, contracts, etc.  I learned more at this one conference than I did all year when it came to taxes and being financially accountable. Hoping to attend again this year!

HOW I TAKE MY OWN BLOG & INSTAGRAM PHOTOS

In 2018 I figured out how to take my own photos and BOY was that a game changer. Now I can take pictures of myself at home while Justin is at work and get five times as much stuff done! In this post, I talk all about my equipment and how I set up my tripod, phone/camera, and remote.

10 RECENT AFFORDABLE AMAZON PURCHASES

Everyone loves them some Amazon! This was my first and only Amazon purchases post and it ended up being a huge hit. So much so that y’all bought hundreds of the “H” bracelets! I will definitely be placing more Amazon orders very soon so that I can share more of these posts with you all. 
(p.s. DO NOT buy the black sweater… I got it and it was terrible.) 

THE QUOTE THAT MADE ME STOP COMPETING

This post was one of my personal favorites because it was, well, so personal. I shared why I don’t feel the need to compete with other influencers on social media and how I stay positive and happy when watching others succeed. I definitely encourage other bloggers/influencers to read!

THE COMFIEST SWEATER DRESS UNDER $35

This sweater dress was a huge hit! I found it online for less than $35, and luckily it’s still in stock and comes in a couple of colors. It’s incredibly comfortable, and as you can see, wears well with a pair of suede booties. I can’t wait until it warms up a bit so I can wear this exact look again!




I TURNED MYSELF INTO A SNAPCHAT™FILTER

This was by far my biggest sponsorship of the year! I got to create a fun Halloween look, share some skincare favorites, and it even appeared on an ad on Pinterest (a serious highlight of 2018). It was super simple but photographed so well due to the bright colors and 3D design. I’m already excited to start thinking of costume ideas to create for this year!
