Is anyone else ecstatic that Friday is finally here?? I spent half the week thinking it was Friday so I’m oh. so. ready. It’s been a long four days so far and I’m really excited about this weekend because the boy and I are doing date night and, thank my happy little heart, lots of blog photos. We’ve had rain for daysss so it’s been dark and impossible to shoot. Oh! I’m also super antsy to buy a “big girl” camera finally. For Christmas and my birthday, my family donated to the “Amanda Blog Camera” fund and I’m finally ready. Justin has been helping me research the right one to buy because all of the specs and numbers and different lenses make my head spin. Thank goodness for engineer boyfriends!

For today’s post, I thought I would talk about something I haven’t blogged about in a long time and that’s foundation. My collection is down to six tried and true products and below you’ll see my explanations of why I love them and what the difference is between the all.

1. Maybelline Matte + Poreless Fit Me Foundation // Medium Coverage // (Shade 220)
This may be the best overall foundation on the market and I know lots of other people will agree. Not only is it priced incredibly reasonable, it’s actually worth so much more. I discovered this product a couple months ago and for months only wore this foundation. Which is saying a lot for a beauty lover with lots of other options! The color range is amazing, the coverage is superb, I’ve never heard of it breaking anyone out, and it’s awesome for pictures – specifically weddings, because it doesn’t contain SPF (which is what creates a white cast on the skin in photos). They also sell a concealer and powder to go along with the Fit Me line, both of which I’ve tried, and cannot complain.

2. Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous SPF 20 // Full Coverage // (Shade 842)
This is my second drugstore fav and only other foundation from the drugstore I’ve ever liked. This one had to grow on me for a while, but now I really love the full coverage it gives on days my face looks red or has more imperfections than usual. I haven’t noticed it clogging my pores and it stays put all day long if you set it with a powder. I actually wore this yesterday and was shocked how good my makeup looked by the end of the day after enduring rainy, windy weather and several different errands. This also comes at a great price point!

3. MAC Studio Face and Body Foundation // Light Coverage // (Shade N2)
This is the best type of foundation if you’re looking for a small amount of coverage and a nice healthy glow. So when do I use this? Weekends, going to the lake, when I feel like my skin looks it’s best, the days following a facial treatment. Like the name states, this product is designed for your face and for your body. It’s perfect for anyone who wants a no makeup look and doesn’t desire full face glam. I don’t wear it as often, but love having it as an option. For long lasting wear I would set with a powder, but many times I don’t since I love the dewy look it gives the skin.

4. Dior Nude Air Serum De Teint // Medium Coverage // (Shade 020)
This favorite was totally unexpected. A while back I tried this formula on the back of my hand while I was in Sephora. I’ve never really been able to tell the magic of a product by doing this, but oh my goodness, the silky texture and finish sold me. You’d think by the name that a serum wouldn’t have very much coverage, but this one really does. And you would be shocked at how easily and quickly it goes onto the skin. I think everyone should give this a try! It does come at a higher price point, but a little goes a long way.

5. Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Natural Perfection Foundation SPF 20 // Medium Coverage // (Shade 03N)
This is the newest addition to my collection. I’d tried several samples of this foundation from Sephora and absolutely loved it. Not my usual response with samples. So finally, after receiving a generous discount code, I decided to order. And as suspected, I’m quite pleased. I had to guess at the color, but it’s a great in-between when I’m not super self-tanned but still have a little color left over. So why do I love this? It gives such a beautiful radiance and really feels luxurious on the skin, as silly as that sounds. It’s a splurge for sure, but thanks to Sephora’s awesome return policy you can always take it back if you don’t like it.
6. YSL Touche Eclat Le Teint Radiance Awakening Foundation SPF 22 // Medium/Full Coverage // (Shade B50)
I saved the best for last! Of all my foundations this is my FAV (with Matte + Poreless being a close second). I cannot tell you how beautiful this foundation looks on this skin. It’s worth every single penny and will last you for quite a long time. I fell in love with this product several yeas ago when I applied and then ran out the door to an event. I remember riding in the car, checking my makeup in the visor mirror, and thinking, “Wow your face looks more radiant than ever before!” I quickly realized it was my new foundation and ever since it’s my go-to for special occasions and, of course, the day to day.

I really hope this was helpful! If you have any foundation favs that I didn’t list please feel free to share, as I always love to try new things, especially from the drugstore! I hope you all have some fun plans this weekend. Justin and I will be going out to celebrate my 28th birthday with a massage, dinner and a movie (I’ve been dying to see Hidden Figures). I’m so ready for a little relaxation!
