My Kentucky HOME TOUR is finally here!

I would say, other than hair, this is my most requested content. It’s taken me a while to compile all the links and the photos but I’m so excited to add this to Pardon Muah as a resource! If for some reason I missed a link or you want to know where something is from, please let me know! Unfortunately, not all retailers can be linked into liketoknow.it.

To give you a little backstory:

I moved home to Kentucky last August. I left KY when I finished graduate school in 2013 and moved around between Virginia and California, before finally decided to put down roots again in Lexington. And it was the best decision I’ve ever made!

Becoming a home owner was not honestly a part of my plan, but I found my house and immediately knew it was for me. It’s still pretty new as it was build 2.5 years ago. All the fixtures, paint colors, and aesthetics of the home were exactly what I wanted so it made moving in super easy.

The house is 3 beds, 2.5 baths and a little under 2,000 square feet. It’s the perfect size for what I needed. I wanted to have a guest room for friends to stay and an office space since I work from home (I didn’t include the guest bath and hall bath so I’ll make sure to share those on stories).

This house, for me, is like a sanctuary. When I moved back home I also left a very long relationship and this home has helped me to heal and to spread my wings again. Finding it, and its location near my family was absolutely serendipitous. I truly feel like it was waiting for me!

I decorated the house before the end of 2019. It was a goal of mine to fill each space with something before the new year. So everything you see in this post was done in about four months. I still need lots of artwork, pictures, and some additional decor but I’m so happy with how it has turned out.

HOME Q&A

I asked on stories if you all had any questions about the house and will put the most commonly asked ones below:

**I apologize I do not know the paint colors, types of flooring, fans, or backsplash details. If I find out I will add them below.

Q: WHAT FABRIC/COLOR IS YOUR BED?

A: bright white linen!

Q: WOULD YOU SAY THE ANTHRO MIRROR IS WORTH IT?

A: I do! But, only if you can easily make the splurge. I waited like three years to finally buy mine and waited until the holidays when it was 30% off. There are lots of other mirror options out there but there’s really nothing quite like the large anthro!

Q: WHAT WAS YOUR DECOR INSPIRATION?

A: That’s a great question! Most of my inspo probably seeped into my brain via Pinterest. I knew, from previously decorating a home, that I wanted it to be very neutral with a few modern touches (like acrylic) while being feminine and comfortable. Even though my house is very white it is a people & dog friendly house! Since this is a glam pad, I wanted splashes of leopard and pink throughout, but using small non-permanent decor items like throw pillows. My color palette is: white, beige, black, & blush. I found in my other home that keeping things neutral is key! If you want another color, add it in in small ways that you can change around if needed.

Q: WHAT WOULD YOU CALL YOUR DECOR STYLE?

A: Someone actually gave me the perfect term once and I don’t know if I remember it. I think it was transitional glam! It’s easiest for me to describe my style by store. I’m a mix of Pottery Barn, Ballards, and All Modern.

Q: HOW DO YOU KEEP EVERYTHING SO CLEAN WITH A DOG?

A: Folex! It’s funny. Heidi isn’t really the issue, it’s me. I dumped an entire cup of coffee on my white sectional and the rug, and thankfully Folex got it all out. I’ve used it on my faux fur rugs too and it works wonders!
