If you’ve been following along on Instagram, you know that recently I took a trip to sunny Sarasota, FL with Casablanca Fan Company. Myself, and the five other bloggers that attended, had an absolute blast soaking up some sun, learning more about the company, and staying in the chicest of hotels – The Sarasota Modern – which actually incorporates Casablanca fans in their rooms and common areas!

This was so sweet of Casablanca Fan Company and The Sarasota Modern. They picked up Makayla (@fashionablykay) and I from the airport in this amazing retro van with our handles on the side!

This is the Piston in soft sage and is damp-rated making it perfect for a patio. We are getting one in black for our house! I’m planning to pair it with a black & white striped outdoor couch.

The hotel had the black Paume outside on their restaurant patio and they look so pretty surrounded by hanging lights. Love the look of the black against the white ceiling.

This is the Aya! It’s also available in black and was inspired by Japanese and Scandinavian design. It’s actually Wi-Fi enabled so you can turn it on or off while you’re not at home. It is also damp-rated.

While in Sarasota, we visited The Ringling Museum (i.e. The Ringling Circus). The museum of their home and art gallery are quite interesting to see – the gallery is housed in this beautiful pink building.

As you can see, The Sarasota Modern is a fabulous hotel. I’m in love with the minimalistic details and the architecture of the rooms. I was fortunate enough to stay in one of their Residential Suites that came equipped with a kitchen, living room, spacious bedroom, lots of space for clothing, a 200 sq ft balcony with a tub (my FAV part), a large bathroom, and even a sleek selfie mirror. 

OH, and the room service is ah-mazing! Makayla and I were so hungry when we first arrived that we immediately ordered burgers and fries and they were some of the best we’ve ever had! 


SO LET’S TALK ABOUT FANS!


When I originally told Justin about my trip to Florida with Casablanca he was initially perplexed by the connection between fashion and fans. And some of you may be wondering the same…

While at our last dinner we all discussed this question… “How do fashion and fans connect?” And the lead designer for Casablanca Fan Company gave some incredible insight into our discussion. She explained that home decor follows fashion, both in design similarities and in color. And I’d never thought about it before but it’s true! So we all got to give feedback about what we would like to see next.

Now that we are finishing up the house, we are so excited to add several Casablanca fans to our home. Both the Piston design in black (for our screened in back porch) and Levitt in white (for several of our bedrooms). I’ll be sharing the fans and our HOME TOUR very soon in another post! I’ve been waiting for so long to share and now have a whole new appreciation for the fixtures in our house. No more chains hanging down, or clanking when the fans are on high (thank goodness!)
