Hello, Friends! This is the first blog post of the week, and PHEW, Things have been busy! As many of you know who have been following along here and on Instagram, I attended the 2018 RewardStyle Conference in Dallas last Thursday – Saturday. If you’re wondering, “Who is RewardStyle?” They developed LiketoKnow.it (and the new app that I talked about in a recent post) that I’m sure most you are familiar with. It’s a technology that allows influencers like myself to monetize our blogs and social sites (commissionable links, blog widgets, etc.). Attending the conference has been one of my biggest goals since I was accepted as an influencer. When I found out I was invited I literally screamed, then teared up, then immediately sent in my “YES!” RSVP.

You may be wondering why this conference is such a big deal and why I talked Justin’s ear off about it for HOURS the night I found out I could attend lol. RewardStyle is made up of thousands of amazing bloggers and influencers from around the world, and ideally, everyone would get the chance to attend, but boy, they would never find a hotel big enough hehe! So they open up the conference to a small percentage of top earners within the platform. I have no idea of the exact criteria but I do know they look at commission earnings, sponsorships, etc. I was so humbled to get an invite and didn’t take one single second for granted. For me, it was incredibly validating after years of hard work, time, and love I’ve funneled into Pardon Muah and all of my social sites.

No joke, I’ve never even been around another blogger like myself until last week (crazy right?!). It was amazing to immerse myself for two days in the world of all things influencer where people understand your successes, challenges, and the crazy up and down of the day to day. I made friends with people I’d only previously met on Instagram, got to attend educational classroom sessions with speakers like Courtney Kerr (such a highlight!), learn about new technology, and even sit next to Katey McFarlan and Alyson Hayley at the opening keynotes (still pinching myself about that one – btw they both as nice in person as they are on Instagram). So many life-changing moments!

I’m going to share additional takeaways and experiences throughout the next couple of posts here on Pardon Muah because I have lots of fun outfit shoots to share with you. Fortunately, I was able to work with an amazing photographer, Yash of Banavenue Photography, who came out to capture our looks at the hotel. And thank goodness, because I ended up missing Day One in a devastating (okay, dramatic I know but I was so so sad) series of travel troubles. On Thursday, my connecting flight to Dallas was canceled in Philly after three delays, and then I found out all of the flights to Dallas were overbooked. Which meant I had to fly to Lexington (my home sweet home ironically) and then into DFW. So I finally arrived six hours late (missing the meet & greet and pool party) to find out my bags were still in Philly with all of my outfits and accessories. So I had to wait at DFW and ended up at the hotel around 9:30 pm.

I ended up eating three bites of a $38 turkey club I ordered from room service and passing out!

Thankfully, Day Two did not disappoint and I’ll be sharing more about that in a later blog post. But for today, I wanted to spotlight my Meet & Greet attire I didn’t have the chance to wear haha! We ended up shooting this look and my pool party outfit early in the morning of day two before the keynotes. Y’all… I cannot say enough good things about this palm print skirt! Online it looks green and white, but it’s actually green and lilac. I almost sent it back because of the color difference but after I tried it on I fell in love – and the lilac is really cute! It wears so well, is a wrap waist so it’s a great fit for so many body shapes & sizes, and it’s simply a standout piece. I paired mine with a simple white cami (I own three it’s that good!), and my favorite pair of designer wedges by Chloe. They are super tall but really lightweight making them easy to wear for long periods of time.

I added a little pizzazz to my outfit with some BEAUTIFUL pieces from Fink’s Jewelers, a local jeweler here in the Roanoke/Salem Virginia area (they also have multiple locations in northern VA, NC, and MD). They were so kind to offer to add a little sparkle to some of my looks at the conference and the experience styling with them was wonderful. They made me feel like family and were extremely knowledgeable when I told them what I was looking for and my personal style. I love that they let me pick and choose what fit best for me, which ended up being a lot of David Yurman (shocker lol), and dainty diamonds from Roberto Coin (the love letter initial pendant necklace was my favorite piece), and Sabel (a private label brand at Fink’s). I highly encourage anyone looking for some new baubles to check them out online and in store!

I hope all of you have an incredible Wednesday and make sure to head over to Instagram for a fun summer giveaway I’m hosting!

Btw did anyone notice the LTK symbol in my sunnies in some of the photos?! Yash and I noticed it afterwards when looking at the pictures and I literally high fived haha! So much fun!
