The NORDSTROM ANNIVERSARY SALE 2020 starts next month and I want to help you prepare with this 2020 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Guide. This year’s Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts officially August 19th and runs until August 30th. You can also gain access early! To find out how, continue reading.

Why is the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale such a big deal?

Well, for me it’s like Christmas in August! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is the one time of year Nordstrom unveils brand new Fall merch ON SALE. After the sale, prices go back up, so this event is an amazing time to snag late summer, Fall, and even Winter pieces you can wear for months to come.

What can I do to prepare for the sale?

Mark your calendar and set your clocks for August 19th at 9:30 am EST!
Clean out your closet! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is a great time to buy basics like denim, booties & boots, tees, and sweaters, etc. Knowing what you have and what you need is a great way to prepare for the sale. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of merch Nordstrom will have available, so having a list of needs (or wants lol) is helpful.
Peruse the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview and highlight items you want to get your hands on. A lot of popular pieces will go quickly so making a list or priority items is key. I did this last year and it made the process much easier.

How and where do I shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale:

You can shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale both in stores and online, but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND shopping online for better stock and a more comfortable experience (especially this year due to social distancing and COVID). OR if you have a store near you, you can select curbside pick up. That means you order online but can get your items the same or the next day!

A lot of you ask how I can get credit for “in-store” purchases when you shop my links (y’all are so sweet) and in-store/curbside pickup orders made online totally count!

Do I need a promo code to shop?

You don’t need any kind of promo code to shop. If you have Early Access, you’ll log in to your account and automatically be able to shop the sale. If you’re not a cardholder, you’ll be able to see the items but won’t be able to purchase until the 19th.

Why should I check out the sale early if I don’t have Early Access?

You can easily add items to your wishlist on Nordstrom.com so they will all be there when the time comes to check out on August 19th when the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale officially begins! I will be posting sale content starting the 6th so feel free to add my favs and purchases to your own personal list.

How do I get Early Access?

Early Access gives you the ability to shop the sale 7 days before anyone else, and trust me, things fly off the racks (both literally and figuratively). Some items don’t even last a day! To gain access, you’ll need to be a Nordstrom cardmember. I actually opened my Nordstrom Card several years ago to shop early. There are two types of cards and both get the privilege of shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale early!

Nordstrom Retail Card is a store card that can only be used to shop at Nordstrom, Nordstrom Rack, HauteLook, and Trunk Club. You’ll earn 3 points per dollar spend in-store and online.

Why should I come to the blog even if I follow you on Instagram?

Swipe ups are seriously the best thing since sliced bread, and trust me, there will be SO many swipe ups and try-on sessions happening during the sale (SO if you read the blog but don’t follow on IG, now is def the time to start!), but the blog will be the BEST and MAIN resource for all things Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I personally think shopping the sale on my computer due to the number of items being purchased and the quality of information.
