The Perfect Plaid Vest

Have you guessed my holiday color combo yet?! Yes! It’s red, green, AND pink. I absolutely love how all of my holiday photos turned out and a lot of it is thanks to the color scheme of brights. My amazing grandmother sent me this incredible plaid vest the night before my photo shoot so I had to incorporate it into an outfit. I ended up perusing catalogs for color combo inspiration and decided to pair the vest with a pretty pink sweater.

Someone asked how this sweater works when there isn’t any pink in the vest and that’s a great question! One, you don’t always have to be matchy-matchy when wearing different patterns and color combos. And two, a way to make an outfit cohesive is to add additional accessories in the same color. I threw on a fab pair of red and pink gloves and added a pink lip to bring it all together. The red beanie and red-hot heels bring out the red that’s already in the vest. And in the end, it all goes together well. Don’t be scared to experiment or worry what people may think. Whatever you wear, wear it with confidence, and compliments will surely come your way!

One of my favorite features of the vest is the velvet detailing around the pockets, zipper, and collar. It’s really high-quality and a piece you can wear throughout the winter weather. Sizing Info: The vest runs big, so unless you want to wear a really thick sweater underneath (or are fairly chesty) I would size down. I’m actually hoping to switch mine out for an XXS. My shoes, however, run VERY small. I have very narrow feet and almost never size up, and in these, need a whole size bigger. Everything else runs true to size! BTW the skinny jeans I’m wearing are my favorite of all time!

I get SO many questions about this lipstick every time I wear it. It’s called Saint Germain and is the perfect bubblegum pink (it is slightly brighter in person). Since I had so much going on in my outfit already I kept the accessories simple. I wore my David Yurman cable bracelet and two of my new favorites. New jewelry rarely makes the cut into my daily arm stack but these two gold beaded bracelets did – to my surprise. They are real gold beads and will never turn… which is what totally sold me!
