As we experience longer days, we know spring is on the horizon. One of my favorite things to do as the temperatures start to feel more spring-like is to have lunch on a patio. In today’s edition of What to Wear Where, I’ve got the perfect outfit to wear to lunch as we transition to spring. It features a perfect balance of light layers and on-trend pieces.

What to Wear to Lunch as We Transition to Spring

Spring requires a bit of planning when it comes to outfits. In Lexington, it could be rainy and 50 degrees one day. Then, the very next day, it’s sunny and 70. So you never really know what you’re going to get during the transition from winter to spring.

I started this chic, casual outfit out with on-trend wide leg jeans. They run really oversized, and suggest sizing down one or even two sizes. With trendy silhouettes like these, it’s nice to buy an affordable option to see how you like wearing the trend. Then, you can invest in a more expensive pair down the road.

This striped long sleeve tee is a great basic to wear on its own or layer underneath something like a cardigan, blazer or trench coat. I sized up one to a small, so it wouldn’t be too tight.

Then, I layered a striped sweater over my shoulders to have an extra layer on hand. I sized up to a medium. They’re running low on stock, so I linked a few similar options below.

And because spring is in the air, it’s finally time to let the pedicure shine through. These peep toe booties are the perfect mix of winter meets spring. They give you a bit more coverage than a sandal, but still give you that warm-weather look with the peep toe. My exact pair are sold out, but linked similar options below.

As we say so long to it being pitch black at 5pm, we can prep for the spring ahead and lunches on the patio.
