Before becoming a full-time blogger, I was the manager of a health care system in Virginia. So I was in an office environment daily, which meant wearing workwear every day. I’ve been getting a lot of requests for workwear options to be featured on What to Wear Where. So today I’m excited to share what to wear to work in the winter

The best thing you can do for a well-rounded workwear wardrobe is to buy neutral pieces, so you can mix and match them to create endless outfit options.

Sherpa Coat

I’ve worn this sherpa coat on repeat throughout the season. The reason is because you can easily dress it up or down. In this post, I paired it with a lounge set. So it goes to show that it’s a versatile piece that will keep you extra warm and cozy. I did size down one in this coat to an XXS. Unfortunately, this exact coat is almost sold out. But I found two other options that are very similar and have the same versatility as the one I’m wearing. Because it’s long and structured, it’s appropriate to wear to work, especially on those extra chilly days!

For an special chic touch, I added this YSL brooch. It gives the coat a designer look without paying for an entire designer coat.

Cable Knit Sweater

This cable knit sweater looks like it’s from J.Crew or Banana Republic. It’s perfect to pair with both trousers or ankle pants, jeans or skirts. It comes in three other colors, and I sized up one to a small for a little bit of an oversized fit.

Black Ankle Pants

These black ankle pants balance out the more forgiving fit of the sweater. The ankle pants run true to size, and I’m wearing a 0SP. They’re a high-rise with a wrinkle-resistant material, which is perfect for traveling too. They come in five other colors and are incredibly flattering. It’s nice when pants come in different lengths for a better fit for a variety of body types. The petite length is a 26.5″ inseam while the regular fit is a 29″ inseam.

Black Pumps

Black pumps are probably one of the top five most needed workwear staples to have in your closet. They’re chic, sophisticated and go with pretty much everything. You can pair them with trousers, ankle pants, pencils skirts, flowy skirts and dresses. Aside from the workplace, you can easily wear them for other occasions outside of work. Pair them with denim jeans and a blazer to go out to dinner with your friends or significant other or with a little black dress to attend a wedding. Honestly the options are endless!

Chloe Tote Bag and Sunnies

I did a review of my Chloe tote on IGTV, if you’re interested in all the details about this bag. It’s great for carrying all the things to go to work. The neutral colors of the bag are perfect to pair with most any workwear look. If you’re on the go for work often, this is a great option to put all your work essentials in and carry from one place to the next.

These sunglasses are even more stunning in-person, and love the rich brown color. They also come in a black and grey combo, and look great on all face shapes.
