Good Morning Friends and TGIF! I’m still playing major catch up from our eleven-day trip and feel like I’m drowning in work. I can’t wait to un-pile myself so I can finally get organized. It’s so hard for me to concentrate when things are in disarray. Luckily this past Tuesday I was able to visit one of my favorite places to decompress for a bit and relax. I knew my skin was going to need some extra love and attention after so many flights and climate changes so I scheduled myself a Hydrafacial (my favorite skin care service) at The Plastic Surgery Center – Granite Bay, California before leaving for our trip. And thank goodness I did because my face feels sooo much better!

Isn’t their new office just beautiful?! The Plastic Surgery Center also has a location in Sacramento where I’ve been going for almost a year now but after getting an invite to Granite Bay, I might just have to make the thirty minute drive each time! I was so flattered that they asked me to come and photograph the office to share with all of my followers. The staff and decor are phenomenal. There’s definitely an air of luxury and a feeling of calm. Plus, how sweet is the coffee and tea bar?! Yes, please!! I wanted to take some time today to talk about Hydrafacials, what they are, why I started getting them, and why I chose the esthetician I see.

What is a Hydrafacial?

The best thing about a Hydrafacial is that it’s for everyone! It’s a very gentle skin care treatment that helps with firmness, wrinkles, tone, texture, oil, and brown spots. The idea is that after several treatments it actually starts to replenish your skin. Did you know that after the age of 20 you produce 1% less collagen each year? (fun fact via the Hydrafacial website) – so it’s great to start early! The process can take as little as 30 minutes so you could even do it on your lunch break.

Why Did I Start Getting Hydrafacials?

After I moved to California I noticed my skin was VERY red and irritated…all the time. I started to get really self-conscious because nothing I did was helping. I finally started researching facials and procedures that may help and stumbled upon several different YouTubbers getting Hydrafacials. It not only looked relaxing, but they left looking better than they came in. A lot of facials cause redness for quite a while but Hydrafacial does not. It’s fantastic for sensitive skin (mine is super sensitive) and you can even wear makeup the same day! Come to find out after months of working with my aesthetician, I have a mild form of rosacea that has been causing my cheeks to turn red. I’ve started using a cream prescribed by my dermatologist, but continue to get Hydrafacials because I can truly tell a difference. It leaves my skin feeling so refreshed, hydrated, and most of all clean.

How Did I Choose My Esthetician and Location?

I have to say I got very lucky with The Plastic Surgery Center. I found them on the internet after doing some research on places that offered Hydrafacials. I was new to the area and honestly, chose what was closest to my house. The name also helped. I figured a plastic surgery center offered credible treatments and properly credentialed staff. Then, I got even luckier with my esthetician, Christine Verran! She’s so genuine and welcoming each and every time I see her. She’s so easy to talk to and we girl talk pretty much the entire time lol. Although, I’m sure she’d let you relax in quiet too…I’m just a talker. She’s helped me to better understand my skin and why it’s so important to take care of it now before I hit the big 3-0. She’s also introduced me to new products I use day and night and LOVE!

If you’re local to Northern California (or just traveling) and would like to make an appointment with Christine just call the office at 916-929-1833, ask for the skin care center, and let them know you’d like a Hydrafacial at the Granite Bay location (you can also see her in Sacramento).

You can follow the office @pscskincare on Instagram or here on Facebook.
Huge thanks to The Plastic Surgery Center for sponsoring this post!
