This past weekend, I popped by one of my favorite coffee shops in the area, The Amsden. I highly recommend if you’re ever in the area. It has the most delicious and creative coffee, tea and other speciality drinks. This week on What to Wear Where, we’re talking about brunch basics, and how to easily get out the door on a Saturday or Sunday morning for brunch.

If you missed last week’s W2WW, it’s all about using The Icon to style different fall looks for a variety of occasions.

What to Where Wear: Brunch Basics

Sometimes it’s so much fun to get dressed up for Saturday or Sunday brunch. But other days, I like to keep it simple. This weekend, I reached for some of my favorite basics to create a comfortable and casual look, yet still felt put together.

I started with this off-the-shoulder black sweater. This exact one is sold out, but linked other black sweater options below. This Treasure and Bond sweater is an option I really like from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It has a ribbed detail, and goes off one shoulder for a laid back vibe. It also comes in a pretty light pink color.

The sweater is a great basic to have in your wardrobe because you can pair it with a variety of looks. To dress it up, you can wear it with a midi skirt or trousers. I think this sweater would be a great legging-friendly option too.

Pair with Denim Jeans

When I want something casual to wear to brunch, I tend to reach for a good pair of denim jeans. These Abercrombie jeans are one of my favorite pairs of jeans ever. However, I will say I had some amazing luck at this year’s NSale with denim too. Here’s a round up of the NSale denim, if you’re interested.

This particular pair of jeans are the Curve Love Ultra High-Rise Straight Jean. A lighter-colored jean tends to be more on the casual side. I love pairing these jeans with basic t-shirts, sweaters and oversized sweatshirts. I sized up one to a 25 in these jeans.

Keep It Comfortable with Flat Sandals

These Jack Rogers flat sandals are definitely my most worn casual sandals. They have both standard color options and seasonal colors to choose from. These sandals are also great to travel with because they can be worn with a swimsuit and coverup. And they’ll also look amazing paired with a dress for dinner. They run true to size.

Accessories Make the Difference

The accessories bring this outfit all together. The felt hat is a must when it comes to fall and winter accessories. I did two simple low buns, and added this hat. So you don’t have to worry about styling your hair in the morning.

I also paired my favorite cubic zirconia earrings with the look. They’re simple and add just the right amount of sparkle. I’m also wearing this initial pendant necklace from the NSale. The necklaces make amazing gifts for birthdays and holidays! To complete the look, I have my YSL puffer bag that can carry all the things. It’s perfect for work or weekend.
